Work It Forward - Calgary

Empowering Abilities. Creating Opportunities.

Finding and keeping work can be challenging, especially for adults living with a disability or health condition. Many traditional employment programs don’t fully address the barriers you face, leaving talented, capable people without the support they need.

That’s why AKG Canada created the Work It Forward Program. Based in Calgary, Work It Forward is designed to help adults with disabilities and health conditions explore employment, build skills, and move toward meaningful, sustainable work. With the right guidance, practical supports, and opportunities tailored to your strengths, you can take confident steps toward a fulfilling career.

Whether you are just beginning to explore your options or looking to advance your employment journey, Work It Forward provides the tools, coaching, and resources you need to succeed.

About the Program

Who We Serve

Work It Forward is for adults in Calgary who face barriers to employment due to disability, health conditions, or other challenges.
We recognize that everyone’s path to work is unique, and our goal is to provide supports that are flexible, accessible, and tailored to
your individual needs.

Why the Program Exists

Many adults with disabilities experience lower employment rates because workplaces and programs are not always equipped to support their
needs. Work It Forward addresses this gap by providing services that are
inclusive, personalized, and innovative, helping you navigate
the challenges that can make finding and keeping work difficult.

Our Approach

We believe in a person-centered approach. That means every step of your journey is guided by your goals, strengths, and preferences.
You’ll have access to Occupational Therapists and Career Developers who understand the employment landscape in Calgary and who will work with
you to create a plan that builds confidence, develops skills, and opens doors to opportunity.
